Reviewer Evaluation Process
The Editorial Committee of Política. Revista de Ciencia Política accepts original works in Spanish and English that must be submitted exclusively to our journal.
The author must anonymize the manuscript prior to submission. This requirement is essential to safeguard the anonymous nature of the entire double-blind peer review process.
Contributions submitted to Política. Revista de Ciencia Política for review and publication must be sent only through the journal’s OJS platform. Submissions sent by email will not be accepted.
When submitting a manuscript, all authors must be registered. No modifications can be made afterward.
Upon receiving the manuscript, the Editorial Committee will conduct a preliminary evaluation to determine whether the work meets the journal’s focus and guidelines.
If it does not meet the scope or guidelines, the submission will be returned as rejected.
Manuscripts will be analyzed using an academic integrity and similarity detection system through Turnitin software. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.
Manuscripts that pass the preliminary evaluation will begin a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript will be sent to at least two external reviewers. This evaluation considers, among other aspects, originality, relevance, timeliness, and contribution to political science, as established in the journal’s review form.
The evaluation process takes approximately four months. The result is communicated directly to the authors and may indicate that the article is accepted without changes, accepted with revisions, or rejected. The average time between submission and publication is 25 weeks.
If the reviewers’ assessments do not coincide, the Committee may request the opinion of a third external reviewer to determine whether the manuscript is publishable.
If the article is accepted, it will be published in one of the following two issues.
Before publication, manuscripts undergo a second analysis using an academic integrity and similarity detection system.
Publication Frequency
