How can we teach political science in a complex world? One answer began during the Bologna process, a new paradigm in pedagogy called the “shift from teaching to learning.” The core of this new paradigm is active learning. A teaching method that should meet the requirements of active learning is the use of simulations and role-playing games of varying complexity in classes. However, simulations require a significant investment of resources (time, money). Is it worth doing simulations? Below are some considerations on didactics and active learning, and simulation games as examples of the application of didactic principles, and the value of simulations is discussed. In difficult times, the teaching of political science must also keep up to date and adapt to current demands and developments in didactics.
