Abstract

The article analyzes the public policy approach, its usefulness for the study of government decisions from the perspective of Political Science. It makes a recount of the main theoretical approaches to the study of public policies in terms of models, types. Characterizes the stage model. Emphasizes the importance of the study of the actors as a key aspect when it comes to knowing the dynamics of public decisions, especially on issues related to political factors, central to the discipline of Political Science. Finally, he argues the need to understand public policies within the political and institutional context in which they are developed.
