About the Journal

Subject matter and purpose

Política. Revista de Ciencia Política is a semi-annual publication (July and December) of the Faculty of Government of the University of Chile, published since 1982. Its objective is to communicate the main currents of Political Science and contribute to the consolidation of this discipline in Chile. Unpublished works, preferably research results, are published in all the sub-areas of political science, with special interest in national and regional politics, as well as methodological and theoretical aspects of political science.

The editorial board receives papers in Spanish and English, which must be submitted to the journal exclusively. All works will be reviewed using the double-blind system. In the review process, factors considered include the contribution of the work to political science, the relevance and interest of the topics analyzed in the article, the quality of the work and its contribution to the scientific community in general.

Política. Revista de Ciencia Política prioritizes research in the main areas of Political Science. Likewise, interdisciplinary studies analyzing actors, institutions, policies, and political processes from both comparative and case study perspectives are highly valued. Areas of Publication:

Political Systems and Government: Studies on political regimes, governmental structures, and political processes.

Methods and Political Analysis: Research focused on innovative methodological approaches—qualitative, quantitative, or mixed—applied to political studies.

Political and Electoral Behavior: Studies on elections, political parties, and citizen participation.

International Politics and International Relations: Articles addressing interactions between states and/or institutional or individual international actors.

Political Theory and Political Philosophy: Studies on fundamental political ideas, doctrines, and concepts.

Public Policy and Policy Analysis: Contributions focused on the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of public policies.
