The Disaster Issue within the Context of the Latin American Urban Habitat

Abstract

In this short paper, we’ll show the main urban risks at Latin America, the processes that produce a degradation and risks. Then, we’ll go over alternatives suggested by the main actors concerned (involved): local authorities, social organizations, no governmental organizations and universities. We’ll finish with Mexico City example, in wich we develope a study that has permited us to know about local authorities perception of risks and Alvaro Obregon Delegation inhabitants.
