Abstract

Due to its long duration and to the plurality of groups it relied upon, it is hard to identify a single ideology or a clear political program within Franco's dictatorship. In contrast with Italian Fascism or German Nazism, Francoism based its ideological conglomerate on various principles, the defence of which was agreed by regime "families". However, these doctrinal grounds did not subsist unvaried, but adjusted to circumstances and evolved according to the system’s survival needs. The aim of this article is to point out the elements of continuity and change of this corpus of ideas by gathering a good share of the dispersed existing literature so as to generate an organized and integrated proposal
